Remembrance Service

Remembrance Day marks the day World War I ended: 11:00am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. All staff and pupils attended a poignant 'Remembrance Service' gathering at the front of school prior to 11:00am on Friday 11 November 2022.

‘Remembrance Day’ is now generally recognised as a point of reflection to remember all those who gave their lives as a result of combat in different conflicts around the world since 1918. In a pupil-led service, representatives of each Year Group laid wreaths and plaques at the foot of our 'poppy field' which was sprinkled with wooden-oak crosses and overlooked by a silhouetted WWI soldier.

Senior Prefects gave short-readings. The school choir provided a tuneful rendition of Vera Lynn's, 'We'll Meet Again'. The 'Last Post' was beautifully played by Year 7 pupil Jared, prior to a well-observed 'two-minute' silence respectfully met by all members of #TeamTaf. Well done to you all!
