will raise money for a number of good causes, one of which, is extremely relevant to Afon Tâf High School. We’ll let Carl take up the story:

“Well, a person who helped me massively to understand the art world and complete my transformation from musician to painter was a guy called Dominic Gubb.

Dom and I did three successful sell-out pop up shows together in the Morgan Arcade and the Kings Road Yard in Pontcanna. If you came to any of those you would not have been able to miss his dazzling sculptures (dogs and monkeys, my kind of thing of course!) I couldn't have done any of that without Dom.

On the Thursday of the final week of that show, I received the news that he had suddenly passed away. The news was absolutely devastating, my loss was nothing in comparison to the grief experienced by his family.

Besides being an incredibly talented sculptor he was a much-loved teacher for 30 years as assistant head in Afon Taff school in Merthyr and I am trying to raise money for the creative department of his school set up in his memory. The school has already directed the funds it has raised into creative projects to nurture artistic talent but also art therapy facilities and I hope the money raised will enable them to continue this work.”

If you’re able, please support this extremely worthy cause allowing us to keep memories of Dominic burning bright.
